Herald of Maranatha:
Text of focus: Leviticus 23:3 KJV
Six days shall work be done: but the seventh day is the sabbath of rest, an holy convocation; ye shall do no work therein : it is the sabbath of the Lord in all your dwellings.
From today's focus text, you could see that God is interested in your rest.
It's normal for producers to add up a user manual to their product, to guide user in the proper use of the product, and not to abuse it in any way. God as your creator has now given the instruction for rest for you, and He has mandated it so that you do not shorten your lifespan by refusing to take rest.
A lot of people have died untimely due to inadequate or lack of rest. You a lot of time to achieve a lot of things, so rest when necessary so you can stay longer to enjoy the fruits of your labour.
This also doesn't mean you shouldn't work at all, rest is sweet after work has been done.
2 Thessalonians 3:10 KJV
For even when we were with you, this we commanded you, that if any would not work, neither should he eat.
If you sleep 12 hours daily, by the age of 50 you would have slept 25 years.
Work and rest are both commandments of God for you. There's time to work and time to rest.
Summary
In the chapters read today (Lev 19 to 21), we learned about how God instructed concerning animals with defects as unacceptable for sacrifices, they do not represent His holy nature. The way to demonstrate our true worship is to give the best of all we have to God. God instructed on holidays and celebrations, which makes us know that wants us to celebrate and be happy, but in a right manner. How do you celebrate?
