Who am III (Discipleship)

Herald of Maranatha:
Fresh From God
Topic: Who am III
  (Discipleship)

Genesis 1:26 KJV
And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.

Having understood who you are, you need to further understand why you're here.
Why did God bring you here?
What were we created for?
Genesis 1:28 KJV

And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.

To subdue (Genesis 1:26-28) – To subdue means to put something under subjection. We were created to subdue something that is rebellious against the will of God, not the animals and plants. When God was talking about subduing He was speaking about things more spiritual than physical. Subduing the powers that would hinder you from being who God has called you to be.

To take dominion – Not among base animals like Nebuchadnezzar; we are to take dominion in the place where God has put you.

To represent God (Isaiah 43:7) – The intention that God had when He made man was that he would represent the authority.

Are you fulfilling these purposes?

Life application

Knowing why you're here helps you to daily consider what you should live with for.
Reflect on these, observe your day to day life and be sure you're in line with what God brought you here for.
