Sacrificial giving (Apostolic Revival)

Herald of maranatha:Daily devotional
Topic: Sacrificial giving (Apostolic revival)
Acts 2:44-45 KJV

And all that believed were together, and had all things common; [45] And sold their possessions and goods, and parted them to all men , as every man had need.

When teaching a group of people on the topic "love",
I told them all kinds of love involves giving but not all kinds of giving involves love. "You don't give because you have, you give because you know what it means to be in need".
Love makes you feel what everyone else is feeling and it's not concerned about self alone.
There are lots of arguments on tithe and offering in this present days, it's a sign of the absence of spiritual revival. Spiritual revival does not birth carnal protest.

From our text, the early church did not complain on tithing, rather they gave their everything. The  leaders also did not fly on people's offering they made proper distribution to meet other Christian's needs.
They did not all give because they had enough,
"2 Corinthians 8:1-5 KJV
Moreover, brethren, we do you to wit of the grace of God bestowed on the churches of Macedonia; [2] How that in a great trial of affliction the abundance of their joy and their deep poverty abounded unto the riches of their liberality. [3] For to their power, I bear record, yea, and beyond their power they were willing of themselves; [4] Praying us with much intreaty that we would receive the gift, and take upon us the fellowship of the ministering to the saints. [5] And this they did , not as we hoped, but first gave their own selves to the Lord, and unto us by the will of God."

This church gave in their penury, they didn't complain on the fact that the Apostles has their own needs met, that can only be by the Spirit of God.

When the spirit of rebellion and protest is rising let's watch out, we are in deep need of spiritual revival.

Prayers: Oh Lord, I receive the grace to live in the spirit and overcome carnality, for this mighty                         revival.

let's go back to the days of the Apostles when people sold their possessions and tithing was not their protest. Omoloye A A
